Step 1 Warm-up

T: Where do you live?

S: I live in …

T: We all live on the Earth. Is the Earth clean?

S: No, it’s not clean.

T: Is the Earth happy?

S: No.

T: Let’s protect our earth. To protect the earth, what should we do?

【设计意图:通过日常对话,引入对Story time的复习。】

Step 2 Grammar time

1. Let’s talk

T: Why should we save water?

S: Water is useful./We use too much water./…

T: What do we use water to do? (用PPT展示关于水的图片)

S: …

T: Water is useful. We use water to clean things. Then how can we save water? What should we do? (用PPT呈现图片)

S: We should reuse water.

T: What should we not do?

S: We should not waste water.

【设计意图:通过详细分析water, wood, energy, plastic,反复巩固句型use sth to do sth。】

2. Find the rule

T: Please look at these sentences carefully. Can you find the rule?

S: Use sth. to do sth. (让学生对比总结句型)

Step 3 Summarize

1. Listen to a video

T: Water, wood, energy and plastic are useful. But people use too much of them. So the Earth is in danger. Let’s listen to a brief introduction. (播放有关保护环境的音频)

【设计意图:播放与课题内容相关的视频,对语法进行归纳总结,并进一步提升学生的环保意识。】

2. Make a report

T: Let’s protect our Earth. And we know how to protect our Earth, what we should do and what we shouldn’t do. Look at the writing on the blackboard and try to tell us how to protect the Earth.

(学生根据教师板书,做如何保护地球的报告)

【设计意图:根据板书总结整理成一段保护地球的报道,锻炼学生的综合语言运用能力。】

1. Read Grammar time after the tape three times.

说课

本课时的学习内容为第七单元Grammar time,作为第2课时,基本环保的单词、理念在第1课时都已学过,第1课时涉及有些句型并没有详细、具体地加以运用。所以通过复习引出本课时所要学的内容,进一步巩固学习句型use … to …、What should we do?、What should we not do?,句型在板书上有条理地体现出来,便于学生复述。

通过学生自己观察重点例子,总结规律,说出句型。should和shouldn’t作为情态动词,学生自然也是能总结出用法和规律的。这锻炼了学生的观察能力和独立思考能力。

虽然是有关语法的课时,环保意识在课上还是需要反复强化,所以为了让学生进一步了解地球上的五种物质,增强他们保护地球的使命感,我安排了一个有关这些物质的音频。然后通过上面的听、说、读,最终以写的形式体现今天所学。
